Advantages

Safer – no cord means no chance of tripping or accidental snagging

More convenient – Can take the drill anywhere with little trouble be it in the house or in the garden

No power No problem – Can work even if you have had to cut the power

Of course the are a few disadvantages

Run time – your working time is limited to the life of the battery which will be dependent upon the work undertaken. Many Draper Cordless Drills come with an extra battery to help alleviate this problem.

Cost – A corded drill is usually cheaper than its cordless counterpart

Disadvantages

Power – Requires mains power to work which may be difficult if working in the shed or in locations not near a plug socket.

Trailing cord – the power cord is clumsy and may get in the way as working.

Which is best that is dependent on circumstances if you need flexibility then a cordless drill may be more suitable where as if you need staying power then a corded drill may be a better choice.
